I have held several roles working in the fields of special education and rehabilitation services for children and adults ages 3 to 55+. I have experience working with children and adults with all disability classifications. I am vested in helping those deemed with a disability show and prove their ability. I have in depth knowledge of the special education process, Individual Education Program (IEP) development and implementation, transition services, assistive technology, applicable laws (IDEIA, ADD, & Rehabilitation Act), worker traits, work ability, and workplace accommodations. Experience & Qualifications
6 years experience as a Rehabilitation Specialist with a city government Rehabilitation Services Administration. I was charged with the responsibility of assessing the work skills, work traits, and work potential of men, women, and high school students with disabilities.
2 years experience as an Advocate for disabled students with a State appointed Advocacy Agency. In this role, I assisted parents and students with obtaining appropriate services from the public school system and provided advocacy at administrative hearing.
4 years experience as a Project Coordinator for a State Transition Services Grant house with a public school system- serving public schools, private school, and parochial schools. In the role I was charged with creating viable and sustainable transition services from school to work for students and young adults with disabilities.
13 years experience as a Special Education School Based Administrator in elementary and high schools. In this capacity, I support school base services, conduct initial and re-evaluations, identify appropriate programming, select and supervise staff, monitor related and instructional services, and I fulfill the role of the local education agency representative at eligibility meetings.
