Experts who are online are given a temporary boost, which places them above experts who may have a higher rank but are offline. This parameter does not affect your average ranking score once you have logged off. Additionally, the number of hours a day you are logged in does not affect your rank.
It is important to always be available to clients when you're logged on, as missing or declining a call will penalize your account -- this hinders your ability to serve clients and appears unreliable.
